Syderstone Amy Robsart Village Hall Management Committee
Resignation of management committee members
The committee convened a meeting of its trustees on 25 March 2025 to consider the effect of recent extreme vitriolic and intimidating behaviour on social media towards the committee and individual members. This was affecting their mental health and wellbeing, as well as those of their families.
Committee members considered a range of actions to take. The situation appears untenable and there was a general feeling that the committee does not appear to have the backing of the village. This is extremely disappointing and therefore with heavy hearts all
members of the committee will resign from 1st May 2025. This date was selected to allow a handover to any new administration. During this
period the remaining committee will continue to manage the hall and its affairs.
To facilitate the appointment of a new committee, individuals who are interested in becoming trustees of the hall with effect from 1st May 2025, should email: newtrustee@syderstonevh.co.uk before noon on Thursday 24th April 2025. The village hall will be made available free of charge, on Friday 25th April at 7.00pm, to allow interested parties to meet and appoint a new committee. Applications received for the role of new trustees will be made available to this meeting. For information the guidance document from the Charity Commission, for charity trustees, can be accessed via the this link .
In the absence of villagers stepping forward to form a new committee, the current committee members are obliged to inform the Charity
Commission of this situation and will do so on 2nd May 2025.
